Each of our adult programs includes an option to ‘pay a little more'. All funds raised help to provide enriching and engaging experiences for youth, families, and adults in need of financial assistance. In this 3-part series of hour-long sessions for parents, you will become familiar with the world of Orton-Gillingham and Structured Literacy, take a tour of a lesson, and learn what you can do at home to work with your child. Part 1: What is Structured Literacy Instruction? (And Why It's Important for Your Struggling Reader) Orton-Gillingham, also known as Structured Literacy, is the most effective reading instruction in helping struggling readers and spellers build and strengthen their skills. Learn about the Science of Reading, what Orton-Gillingham and Structured Literacy instruction are all about, and what you should be looking for in a qualified tutor for your child. Part 2: Experience a Structured Literacy Lesson As a parent, you may wonder what happens when you send your child in for an Orton-Gillingham tutoring session. Take a tour of a typical session to experience a multisensory structured language lesson. Part 3: Do Try This at Home Ever wonder if there were activities you could be doing to help your child work on their literacy skills? This session will share activities you can do with your child at home to encourage the development of skills essential for reading.   • What is Gut Health? Unlocking the Mysteries of the Micro Biome

    Everyone has heard about the importance of good gut health, but understanding it and how to use the information in your life can be confusing. This course will introduce you to gut health, the importance of a healthy gut and how to assess your current gut health. We will talk through ways to get or maintain a healthy gut and share eating habits and recipes that will promote good gut health. You will leave class with actionable, real ways to change your health.     Join us for an open session at the Babler OEC archery range and stretch your archery muscles again! All archery equipment will be supplied or you are welcome to bring your own. Please note, you must have attended an archery class at the OEC in the past or have a beginning- intermediate level of archery knowledge. You may come at any time during the session and leave when finished.
