If you are interested in SwimAmerica classes, sign up for the wait list for your preferred session(s) and we will contact you if/when additional staff are hired and we are able to open more spaces. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Know anyone interested in working part-time in our SwimAmerica program? We're hiring swim instructors ($12/hr) and site supervisors ($14/hr). Have them complete this interest form today. SwimAmerica is a learn-to-swim program for ages 4 and up with classes taught in ten stations. New swimmers will be placed in a station that suits their ability and will progress from station to station at their own pace as the skills at each station can be achieved on a consistent basis. Our teaching progression emphasizes correct body position, stroke and kick, breathing and timing of the strokes. SwimAmerica strives to teach basic water safety, improve fitness, and have fun while learning proper swim techniques. -

Pre-competitive Swim Team - Rockwood Summit High School
This program is for the level 8 or higher SwimAmerica swimmer who wants to go to the next level beyond the instructional focus of SwimAmerica group classes. Compared to SwimAmerica group lessons, the pre-competitive classes are longer, more endurance-based, and meet twice a week. Coaching is conducted from the deck and will be very similar to a competitive swim club practice. This group is also perfect for anyone who enjoyed summer league swimming, and wants to continue swimming during the school year but is not able to commit to or qualify for a year-round competitive swim team. Pre-competitive classes will strive to refine stroke technique so if your child is still having trouble learning the butterfly and/or breaststroke you might want to consider taking a SwimAmerica class. Qualifications: 50 yards freestyle, 25 yards backstroke and have an idea of how to swim breaststroke and butterfly; or be in station 8 or higher in SwimAmerica *Please Note, class fees online are correct and may differ from when the catalog was printed. -
