  • Smoky Mountains Adventure 2024

    The Smoky Mountains Adventure trips are open to current Rockwood fifth grade students. Travel to the Great Smoky Mountains for an adventure-packed four days exploring the wilderness, searching for wildlife, learning about the environment and developing leadership skills. Stay at the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, an environmental education center located within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Smoky Mountains Adventure Trip Dates: Trip 1: Babler, Chesterfield, Pond | March 8-11 (bus departs March 8 at 6 a.m.) Trip 2: Ellisville, Kehrs Mill, Westridge | April 5-8 (bus departs April 5 at 6 a.m.) Trip 3: Blevins, Eureka, Geggie | April 19-22 (bus departs April 19 at 6 a.m.) Trip 4: Ridge Meadows, Wild Horse, Woerther | April 26-29 (bus departs April 26 at 6 a.m.) Trip 5: Bowles, Kellison, Stanton, Uthoff Valley | May 3-6 (bus departs May 3 at 6 a.m.) Trip 6: Ballwin, Fairway, Green Pines | May 17-20 (bus departs May 17 at 6 a.m.) Fee: $675 Full payment option: Pay the full amount of $675 upon acceptance on the trip. Installment option: A $225 deposit is due upon acceptance on the trip. If you choose the installment option, your account will automatically be set up to make three installment payments of $150 each due on December 1, January 2 and February 1. Limited fee assistance may be available to those who qualify. Registration: Registration will take place through a random draw lottery. The lottery sign up period will run July 17-October 31. On November 1, the system will randomly draw from those who have registered for the lottery and will assign students to trips You may only register for the lottery for your child's assigned school trip. You may not register for another school's trip. You only need to register one time for each child. All those registering for the lottery will have an equal chance to be drawn for the trip, regardless of when they register between July 17-October 31. There is no guarantee all students will be placed on a trip. If a trip is full, you have the option to register for the wait list and you will be contacted if/when a space becomes available.   • Swim School Group Lessons: Session 4 (January 5 - February 2); Eureka High School

    Group lessons are for ages 4 and up with classes taught in six stations. New swimmers will be evaluated and placed at a station based on their current skill level. Swimmers will advance from station to station at their own pace as they learn and can consistently perform the skills taught at each station. Our teaching progression emphasizes correct body position, stroke and kick, breathing and timing of the strokes while focusing on basic water safety, fitness and fun.

    THIS IS AN ONLINE CLASS -Your instructor will email instructions one hour prior to class Feel the benefits of yoga without having to get on the floor. You'll stretch the body, release tension, practice breathing, quiet the mind without having being on a yoga mat.     What is 11+18+27+35+42? 96-47? 58x62? What if your child could solve these and many more like them instantly? In their head! And apply these techniques to similar problems they encounter. Build your child’s mental math foundations in our brand new class, Math Whizzes in the Making. We’ll cover tricks for rapid mental addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Students will also learn math magic tricks that hone these mental arithmetic skills, and bring home a fun mathemagic-related prop each class. In addition to the weekly show that you are likely to receive of your math whiz’s new tricks, the program culminates with students putting on a math wizard demonstration for their families the final class.

    Embark on an around-the-world cultural adventure - explore far-off places and learn about the people who live there, from the Americas to Polynesia, from the cosmopolitan to the countryside. Experiment with Crayola® products, while trying art techniques developed by local artists and artisans. Make different masterpieces each week such as sculptures, masks, canvases, buses, and more! Bring the unique creations home and build a globally-inspired art gallery.

    Designed to pair strategic STEM‐based activities with basic game‐play and current hot topics across multiple sports, the STEM Sports® curriculum gives students the opportunity to get behind the sports they love with modules centered around technology, science and innovation.
