    Water Walking takes place in, at, or around chest keep water; sometimes it may include shallow and deep water exposure. The class will be various workouts with a focus on aerobic activity, strength and flexibility. Range of motion and proper technique will be the foundation class.     Have fun with physics and Mad Science! Fly through flight and discover the four forces that affect flight. Make and test plane designs to see these forces in action. Act like junior architects and engineers! Test out shapes for strength and build a bridge. Make liquids turn into solids and watch objects disappear as you uncover the science of magic. Discover how your bike wheel is like a gyroscope and strike the perfect balance as you find your center of gravity.   • Adaptive Swim Lessons (Please See Class Description for Reserved Population)

    Adaptive Swim Lessons are private swim lessons that are geared towards the needs of the participants who may have (but not limited to) a social, emotional, cognitive, or physical impairment, and who may not benefit from the “traditional” swim lesson setting. Participants are paired 1:1 with an instructor, and are able to work on any goal that pertains to the child’s needs (i.e. sensory experience, basic swimming skills, gross motor or fine motor skills, etc.)

    The parent/child classes are designed to have parents in the pool with their child age six months through two years old. Through the use of songs and games, we will offer the opportunity for the parent and child to work together and learn skills that will be necessary in other Swim School lessons.

    Swim lessons for the adult beginner; small class size and individual attention make this class perfect for those adults just learning how to swim. Adults will work on floating, kicking, gliding, treading, breathing, and improving your swimming skills in the water. Our goal is to make everyone safe and not afraid of the water.

The class is done standing and seated and is great for those with arthritis who are looking for a non-impact fitness class that's gentle, smooth, unique and fun.     Toss! Twirl! Whirl! Experience the fun and excitement of baton twirling. Our intro twirling class introduces students to basic twirling skills in a high-energy, positive format.     In this interactive building club, we will use LEGO® Bricks to build different characters from Mario Bros following proprietary Bricks 4 Kidz plans.   • Nature Photography: Principles, Practices, and Post-Production

    In a series of three classes, you will learn the basics of both macro and landscape photography and then practice them in the field using your phone or DSLR camera. In the final class, you will get hands on experience using Adobe software for post production where you will learn to edit and clean up your photos. You will need to bring a smart phone with a camera or a digital camera to each class. The location of the class each week will change due to the subject matter. All program locations will all be within 30 minutes of West County. Taught by Community Ed Instructor Lisa Delorenzo.   • Swim School Group Lessons: Session 7 (April 29 - May 23 ); Crestview Middle School

    Group lessons are for ages 4 and up with classes taught in six stations. New swimmers will be evaluated and placed at a station based on their current skill level. Swimmers will advance from station to station at their own pace as they learn and can consistently perform the skills taught at each station. Our teaching progression emphasizes correct body position, stroke and kick, breathing and timing of the strokes while focusing on basic water safety, fitness and fun.
  • Preschool: Session 7 (April 29-May 23); Crestview Middle School

    The preschool lesson program is designed to introduce 3-5 year olds to proper breathing, front/back float and kicking techniques. When they can be done on a consistent basis, the child will continue to freestyle and backstroke. After they have reached the age of four, they may be moved to the Swim School Group Lessons.
