    Feelings are important and so is the way we deal with them! Kids will engage in activities that explore the different emotions they feel, help them understand why they are feeling them, and learn coping strategies to work through them.     Everyone has heard about the importance of good gut health, but understanding it and how to use the information in your life can be confusing. This course will introduce you to gut health, the importance of a healthy gut and how to assess your current gut health. We will talk through ways to get or maintain a healthy gut and share eating habits and recipes that will promote good gut health. You will leave class with actionable, real ways to change your health.   • Wildflower Walk: Spring Hiking Series

    Watch the woods come back to life as we visit glades, prairies, forests and other unique MO ecosystems to see the variety of native wildflowers blossom. This series will be held on a different trail each week. Hiking locations will be sent out each week prior to the hike and will include state parks and conservations areas in the St. Louis region (within an hour drive of West County). All trails will be marked easy to moderate and will average 2-3 miles in length.   • Woerther Elementary - Parent-Child Fishing Program

    Woerther has partnered with the Missouri Depart of Conservation (MDC) to bring our 4th and 5th grade students and one of their adult family members the Discover Nature Fishing Program! The MDC has graciously loaned Woerther fishing equipment for each student to use during the program. The Woerther Parent-Child Fishing Program is an outdoor education program that is designed for our fourth and fifth grade students to develop a strong connection to nature and conservation. STEM activities will be taught focusing on enhancing all of the participants knowledge of science. Meeting Dates: 3/30, 4/4, 4/11, 4/18, 4/25 The program will meet for 5 sessions.     Use the LEGO we provide along with some extra supplies like marbles, balloons, rubber bands, and more to make exciting projects that are guaranteed to do something cool. Projects will “sail”, “take-off”, “fly”, “catapult”, and “race”! In every class, we will build a functioning model while we learn the STEM skills behind how they work and practice problem solving skills, teamwork skills, and become better communicators.     Jr Robotics teaches students how to use drag and drop programming for robots using LEGO WeDo software. We will build a variety of robots using LEGO bricks. Then we will program the robots with WeDo software from and control the robot from a tablet.     Every Kidding Around Yoga class offers a complete, age-appropriate Yoga practice including breathing instruction, relaxation techniques, stretching and strengthening poses, all using fun-filled music, games, and imagination. KAY’s secret is our playfulness, keeping your child motivated, excited, and moving. This is not your typical Yoga class. You'll learn clown skills, funy skits and gags, plate spinning, flower sticks twirling, and much more! The camp culminates with the students performing a circus to their family and friends!
