  • Adult Master Lap Fitness Swimming - Jan through April

    Try our coached master swim program or do your own workout. All swimming abilities and fitness levels are welcome. Workouts will be given to help adults who still compete, former swimmers, or triathletes looking to improve. Ages 18+. Sign up for the 4 month session of unlimited swims, or purchase a 3, 6, or 12 swims Stamp Card. The Stamp Cards do not expire.     Swim lessons for the adult beginner; small class size and individual attention make this class perfect for those adults just learning how to swim.     Low impact workout challenges those who want to get in shape. Aqua Aerobics classes incorporate low cardio, muscle toning, strengthening and balance work.   • Beautiful Bluebells Hike and Picnic

    See one of the area’s most stunning displays of bluebells as we hike along Swimming Deer Trail at St. Francois State Park. In addition to the blooming bluebells, we will hike along the bluffs of the Big River and enjoy a boxed lunch from Russell’s Café and Bakery. The hike will be 3.4 miles with an elevation gain of 328 feet. Participants are encouraged to bring trekking poles. Taught by Community Ed Instructor Aimee Gao. You will practice the basic building blocks of the language and common idiomatic expressions. You will know enough vocabulary and grammar for simple conversations, and you will learn how to ask and answer questions. Whether you speak some Spanish and need a refresher, or no Spanish, you will complete the course with the skills to communicate in Spanish.     Designed specifically for those with little to no fiction writing experience, find your pathway towards your fiction writing goals. Learn the basic building blocks of story: character, plot and setting. Then find out the different forms of fiction writing and some of the genres you might like to explore. Whether you’ve never written a word of fiction, or haven’t written since high school or college, you will complete the course with the skills you need to get started.
