  • Trek & Travel

    The Trek and Travel program delivers opportunities to connect classroom learning to the outside world through adventure, science and self-discovery. Trips are designed to maximize learning through concrete, experiential lessons aligned with school curricula. Using cooperative teaching methods, certified teachers work in partnership with place based learning centers to capitalize on the unique geographic locations and provide a connection between the trip experience and the lessons in the classroom.

    Trek and Travel  water bottles are now available!Water Bottles: $10. The water bottle is a 32 oz Nalgene Wide Mouth and is BPA Free. The water bottle will be printed with the Trek and Travel logo.All purchases must be made by May 1. (Additional water bottles may be available for purchase at trip departures after this time but supplies will be limited.)Purchased items may be picked up at the pre-trip parent meeting for your child's trip or on the evening of departure. They may also be picked up at the Community Education office at Ellisville Elementary School (1401 Froesel Dr. Ellisville, MO 63011).   • Great Lakes Voyage

    About Great Lakes VoyageFor any student in grades 6-8 for 2019-20 school yearTravel to the North Shore of Lake Superior and get ready for canoeing, hiking, rock climbing, competitive orienteering and zipping through the trees on the challenge courses. Take a tour of Split Rock Light House and go flying downhill on an Alpine Coaster. Take a step back in history and discover how Voyageurs made a living in the North Woods. Get a peek at what you'll experience in this video. Trip Dates: July 21-27, 2019$725, you may choose to pay all up front or payments are due as follows: A $175 deposit is due at time of registration. When registering online your account will automatically be set up to make two installment payments on December 1, 2018 ($275) and January 12, 2019 ($275).   • Smoky Mountains Adventure

    The Smoky Mountains Adventure trips are open to current Rockwood fifth grade students.  Travel to the Great Smoky Mountains for an adventure-packed four days exploring the wilderness, searching for wildlife, learning about the environment & developing leadership skills. Smoky Mountains Adventure Trip Dates: Registration opens online and in-person October 20 at 9 a.m.Trip 1: March 1-4, 2019 (bus departs evening of February 28); Fairway, Green Pines, PondTrip 2: March 8-11, 2019 (bus departs evening of March 7); Ridge Meadows, Wild Horse, WoertherTrip 3: March 29-April 1, 2019 (bus departs evening of March 28); Ellisville, Kehrs Mill,  WestridgeTrip 4: April 12-15, 2019 (bus departs evening of April 11); Blevins, Eureka, GeggieTrip 5: May 3-6, 2019 (bus departs evening of May 2); Bowles, Kellison, Stanton, Uthoff ValleyTrip 6: May 17-20, 2019 (bus departs evening of May 16); Babler, Ballwin, Chesterfield Fee: $585, due as follows A $195 deposit is due at time of registration.
